This is a heart touching story of two best friends. Liz Diamond has been Laura Rufino’s best friend since their school days. But sadly, Liz was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2014 and subsequently passed away. Laura was heartbroken but also worried about Liz’s four daughters, who were now alone.

Laura didn’t think much of it and adopted all four of her best friend’s daughters. Her family; her husband and two daughters welcomed them with open arms. A campaign from YouCaring in New York will provide funds to help the Ruffino family adjust to their new addition. They have already raised more than $80,000.

Laura promised her friend that she would take care of her daughters in case of an emergency. She fulfilled her promise.

Liz passed away in April 2015, but her best friend stepped up to make sure no children were left behind.
