This adorable young Galapagos tortoise recently emerged from the “Three Jays” tortoise sanctuary in Florida.
They have been recognized on the Galapagos Islands. Twelve breeds remain, but two of the identified breeds have already become extinct. The primary reason for this is that a Galapagos Tortoise would typically fetch a price tag of over $1,995.00.
They are also known for their biting. These Tortoises does not have any teeth but their shear like beaks could deliver one painful bite. Despite this nasty detail, the Galapagos Tortoise is usually a calm animal
They are still endangered and are being raised under the care of Sanctuaries.
