The Louvre Museum is one of the most popular destinations in France. This location, which has a lot of historical elements, is definitely worth a visit if you’re traveling to France for the first time. In addition to its historical significance, the glass pyramid museum’s appearance contributes to its fame. Additionally, to commemorate 30 years on the pyramid, renowned French artist Jean Rene created a stunning optical illusion there. With the help of 2000 paper stickers and 400 volunteers, he changed the area to make it appear as though it is in the middle of a grayscale quarry.

The artist had extended an invitation to view the exquisitely redesigned Louvre, along with a photo of it, on his social media accounts as well. He had mentioned the paper stickers that were used and the volunteers in his caption. Additionally, a large crowd had gathered there on the day that the paper stickers were torn off.

Even though he had stated on Instagram that he wanted to dedicate it to French film director and photographer Agnès Varda, who had collaborated with JR, this was made to commemorate the 30th anniversary. On March 29, 2019, he passed away at the age of 90. In 2017, they had collaborated on Faces Places. And that documentary tells the story of their trip as they meet locals and travellers to French villages.
