Kimmarie Johnson, 90210 Actress, Dies: Her Full Story

Kimmarie Johnson, ex-Miss Pennsylvania USA and Beverly Hills, 90210 actress, has died. Her rise, her losses, and the story few knew.

Kimmarie Johnson, an actress and former Miss Pennsylvania USA, has died. She was best known for a 1998 episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 and a role in Dude, Where’s My Car? Her family says she was 50.

From Wilkinsburg to the Miss USA Stage

Johnson grew up in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, the youngest of three children. Her parents separated when she was about 10. She spent the next years living with her grandmother and other relatives.

She studied elementary education and child psychology at California University of Pennsylvania, then worked as an international flight attendant. While she was still flying, a Pittsburgh modeling agency signed her, and she landed work with Vidal Sassoon, Oscar de la Renta and Benetton.

In 1992, with no pageant background, she entered and won Miss Pennsylvania USA. She represented the state at Miss USA 1993 and finished as a finalist.

Hollywood, Heartbreak and Reinvention

Johnson moved to Los Angeles in 1996 and studied acting and dance. Roles followed: Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1998, Dude, Where’s My Car? and V.I.P. in 2000, and Wanda at Large in 2003.

Then 2003 changed everything. Her oldest brother died just days before her son, Cameron, was born. About four months later, in 2004, her mother died of cancer.

She stepped back from acting and studied comedy at The Groundlings. From 2007 to 2010, she returned to the stage in a series of lead roles. She was also executive producer of The Last Eve (2005), a film by Korean American director Young Man Kang that won awards at New York festivals. In 2011, she founded her own skin care company, SkinGlow by Kimmarie.

The Choice She Made at 16

Most fans never knew this part. At just 16, Johnson became a surrogate mother to her oldest brother’s baby daughter. She was raising a child while still a child herself.

Her Final Days

Her niece, Rhonda Scott, told TMZ that Johnson had a heart event at her Los Angeles home on October 27, 2026. She was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where doctors found a heart aneurysm condition. She died peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 4, after her heart stopped.

She went from a small town outside Pittsburgh to the Miss USA stage and Hollywood sets, and she rebuilt her life after every loss. Her story is a reminder that family often shapes us more than fame ever will.
