Karli Willett wanted to give her grandfather Mike Brook, who she loved, a gift for Christmas. An enduring gift.
Since Karli Willett is a singer and songwriter and is very passionate about music, she also requested that the gift have a musical theme. She did, however, make an amazing discovery thanks to her inventive mind.
When he was twenty-one years old, Mike dreamed of joining the military and fighting for his nation. But he had hearing issues and was hurt playing football. Consequently, his dream of joining the military was dashed by those unimaginable obstacles.
However, he continued to receive a great deal of interest and attention regarding the armed heroes. In the 1980s, he wrote a song about his fascination with a man who had been a soldier in Vietnam.
Karli’s mother is his daughter, to whom he used to sing that song. This song had a very special place in both of their hearts. Regretfully, Mike was unable to hear his finished recording of his entire, original work.
But his remarkable granddaughter found the song’s lyrics—which her grandfather had composed many years ago.
She recorded the entire song as a unique present for his grandfather after managing to finish it.
